3 Simple Email Marketing Tips to Boost Your Results

email marketing

One of the most important things you can do with your online business is build an email list.

If you're not building a list yet, get started today!

Having the ability to send emails to your list at anytime gives you leverage. You can create traffic on demand and control where it goes. That really comes in handy when you have an offer to promote. But it all depends on your email marketing efforts.

The way you send emails and how you communicate in them is absolutely key.

You want to build an audience around you that trusts what you have to say, rather than have your emails deleted or unsubscribed.

So if you’re looking to boost your email marketing results, then check out the following 3 tips:

1. Roll Out The Red Carpet For Your Best Subscribers

For all your subscribers that consistently open and click your emails, be sure to treat them really well. In fact you'll want to segment them onto a separate list so you can send targeted emails to them.

Email marketing is data-driven heavy. For example, you see that out of your 1,000 subscribers, only 100 have opened, and 50 have clicked on your links in the email you sent. You can offer these responsive subscribers a special offer like a discount or coupon. It makes sense, as giving these subscribers special treatment is only going to increase their loyalty down the road.

2. Stay Top of Mind With Your Subscribers

It would be awesome if every single subscribers remembered everything about you and your business, but sadly that's not the case. People sign up for all kinds of email lists, and it’s rare to see a list of 25,000 email subscribers all in sync with your latest.

For that reason alone, it's really helpful to email your subscribers on a consistent basis, where you send them a mix of high-quality content and offers. When you deliver value in your emails, your subscribers are more likely to think of you when they have a problem to solve.

3. Use a P.S.

The postscript (P.S.) has proven to be a great place to influence your subscribers. You can use it to inject a strong sense of urgency for your call to action. Or recap the key points of your email. Or leave a cliffhanger statement that has your subscribers anticipating your next email.

The choice is yours!

You can mix it up, be creative and do what works best for your business goals. The point is, the (P.S.) is an excellent place to get a last word in before you close the email.

Final Thoughts

Email marketing can be lucrative for your online business when it's done right.

If you need a boost in your email marketing, use the tips above and you'll see a positive difference in your results.

My Traffic Generation Strategy For 2017

Traffic Generation Strategy

As part of sharing my journey to building six-figure and seven-figure online businesses, I wanted to give you a peek behind-the-scenes of how I've been generating web traffic to my squeeze pages and sales funnels in 2017.

My main focus has been a mix of paid advertising and organic traffic. I currently use paid sources for short-term traffic and organic sources for long-term traffic.

The traffic methods I use are: Facebook Ads, Solo Ads, Social Media, Blogging and SEO. Here are a few tips about each traffic method to help you succeed with them:

Facebook Ads

Facebook has been a great source of traffic for my squeeze pages and sales funnels. I can steadily build a list and make sales with it's targeting features. However, it's important to optimize your ad creative because it has direct impact on your conversions.

As much as you hear about Facebook ad copy, for some reason, the same amount of attention isn't given to the images. The thing is, visual content is very engaging on Facebook so you want to get it right.

Speaking of visual content, Facebook video ads is the next step I want to take to advertise my online business.

Solo Ads

Solo ads are one of my favorite traffic sources. They're really simple to set up, and the subscribers are very responsive. But it's important to work with the right solo ad vendor.

Unfortunately there are so many solo ad vendors it's hard to tell the good from the bad. To avoid getting ripped off, be sure to do your research on the solo ad vendors you're looking to buy from. Check out who they've worked with, their credentials, reviews about them, and anything else you can find on them. Many vendors have test traffic packages so you can see what kind of results they deliver.

I recommend to start small and see how their traffic performs. If it's a good source then you know it's safe to set up bigger orders.

Social Media

Currently I'm posting on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram every week. I post less frequently on Google+. The best traffic so far has come from Facebook this year. Funny thing is, my Instagram posts get the most engagement with no promotion on my part.

To handle social media effectively, use a content calendar to organize your post topics, post content, and post dates and times. It's very helpful to know what you're posting and when you're posting so you can deliver to your audience consistently.

By the way, if you haven't already, be sure to follow Online Business Lifestyle's socials.  My username across all social media is @oblifestyle17.

Blogging

This is definitely my long-term traffic strategy. I look for my blog content to bring in organic traffic from the search engines, and from people sharing it around the internet.

If you're going to get into blogging, you should have a story element behind your blog. Whenever you ask someone about the blogs they like, they always say "I follow so and so's blog". People follow because they want to follow your journey.

Of course great, valuable content is the main thing that will keep readers coming back, but your ongoing story gives them something to follow.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

SEO goes hand-in-hand with my blogging. I optimized my blog with SEO plugins to assist with on-page SEO. Then along with the blog content I'm posting, I aim for the posts to rank high for their keywords.

My advice is if you're not SEO savvy then you can either take the time to learn and do-it-yourself, or save time by hiring SEO services. I like to save time by letting the SEO experts handle the tedious stuff like getting quality backlinks.

Email Marketing

My #1 goal of my entire traffic generation strategy is to build my email lists. I point the traffic to squeeze pages and sales funnels that allow me to get fresh subscribers and customers. From there I nurture my list with content and promote relevant offers.

If you're going to have an online business, your main focus should be building your email lists. With email you have a direct way to speak to your audience, build a relationship, and have them visit websites that you recommend. In other words you can generate traffic on demand and control where it goes.

Final Thoughts

If you're not happy with your current web traffic, then you can use the traffic generation strategy above to boost your results. The right mix of traffic makes all the difference in your online business success.

How to Easily Get Approved For Affiliate Offers

affiliate offers

Affiliate marketing is truly a great way to start making money online.

But one obstacle that gets in the way of many beginners is getting approved to promote affiliate offers.

Affiliate networks like JVzoo, Clickbank, and Warrior+ have it set up to where affiliates have to get approval to promote a product.

Many beginners ask me, "If I'm brand new and have zero sales, how can I persuade a product creator to let me promote their awesome product?"

Well let me set the expectations straight right here.

The truth is, some product creators will never approve a new affiliate with zero sales no matter what.

They want to protect their brand, their product and their stats like Earnings Per Click.

So if you don't have any affiliate sales, it will be difficult to get approved for good affiliate offers...

But it doesn't hurt to try!

There are many product creators who are open to giving new affiliates a shot. You have to request for enough affiliate links until you get approved to promote some.

Once you get affiliates sales under your belt it will be easier to get approved for really good affiliate offers.

The key is how you make your affiliate request. If a product creator doesn't personally know you, then they're concerned about who you are and how you're going to promote their product to make sales.

So in your request focus on those two areas: Who you are and your promotion plan. Here is a simple template you can use to create a great affiliate request:

Hi [Product Creator Name], my name is [Your Name]. I believe [Product Name] is a great product and it fits really well with my audience. I plan to promote your offer by [Your Promotion Plan].

If you haven't heard of me, here's my website:
[Your Website URL]

And here's my Facebook:
[Your Personal Facebook Profile URL]

I'm always happy to help. I look forward to promoting [Product Name] to my audience.

As you can see, this simple message serves two purposes. It let's the product creator know who you are and how you plan to promote their product. By providing your website and social media they can take a look at what you're all about and get a feel on your promotional style. This helps build trust and rapport which leads to a higher chance of getting approved for affiliate offers.

Final Thoughts

If you're brand new to affiliate marketing or you're struggling to get approved for affiliate offers, use the template above to create an affiliate request that speaks to the product creator's concerns. You will find plenty of product creators who appreciate it and will approve you to promote their products.

If you have questions about getting approved for affiliate offers, then please ask them in the comments.

5 Ways to Discover What Your Audience Wants in a Digital Product

Digital Product

Digital products are one of the most cost-effective products to create. And they can be highly profitable for your online business.

You create them once and can profit off them for years. There's no need for sourcing, inventory, shipping or any of those additional cost that can eat into your profits.

But you can't just create any product. You have to create one that your audience wants. One that they will actually pay for. Otherwise it's most likely going to flop.

Many people get hung up on trying to figure out what their audience wants and it keeps them from creating a great product.

I recently went through one of Ben Adkin's product creation courses, and I have to say it's spot on. It definitely helped me create my last product which I did a product launch for.

In Ben's course he talks about having a sole focus about your product. That focus should be to provide a solution to just ONE problem. That's one problem-one solution.

So now you just need to go out and find what that is. Here are 5 ways to discover what your audience wants in digital product:

1 - Ask Your Existing Customers and Prospects

This is one of the easiest ways to find out what your audience wants. Your existing customers and prospects on your email list, social media or blog, can give you a lot of insight into what they need help with.

Simply do a survey and ask them what their most pressing issue is at the moment. When you create products based on the needs and wants of customers, the product pretty much sells itself.

2 - Check Out Industry and Niche Forums

Forums are full of people who passionate about a specific topic. They discuss their problems, insights and opinions they have about that topic. It's a great place to pick up on what's trending and the issues that your audience is currently dealing with.

When you visit these forums look for problems that are pop up over and over again. You can then choose one of those problems to focus on solving.

3 - Visit Popular Blogs in Your Niche

Popular blogs in your niche share an audience who are similar to yours. Their audience is telling the blog owner every day the problems they want fixed. You can be a fly on the wall in the blog comments and see what people are asking and the issues they're bringing up.

Another good indicator is checking the engagement a particular blog topic gets. If you see a blog post with lots of comments and social media shares that means it's a hot topic, and you should check into it see if there is a problem you can solve.

4 - See What "Dummies" Are Selling

Well not actual dummies haha. I'm talking about the "For Dummies" books ie "Auto Repair For Dummies". If you've been to any book store then you've most likely seen their yellow books around. The reason they are a good resource is because they create physical books that people will actually buy. The Dummies brand will not put out a subject that isn't a winner.

You can visit Dummies.com and take a browse through their books. This will give you a good idea of what people are looking for in a product.

5 - View Amazon's Best Sellers List

I love going to Amazon, so sometimes I can get distracted trying to do research there (damn you Amazon Prime haha). But all shopping aside, Amazon is a great resource because they showcase the best sellers which gives you a clear insight into what people really want.

Amazon even lets you preview digital products so you can see what they're all about. This is huge because you can see the exact topics in the product that would be appealing to your audience.

Final Thoughts

When you do your research, write down the top 5 biggest problems you come across. Once you got 5, ask yourself:

Which one of these am I most excited to create a digital product about?

If you're excited to about the product, you're going to finish creating the product. The great thing is, you'll have a product that your audience actually wants.

Product Launch Success Tips Part 3

Product Launch

In my last post I shared more success tips for product launches. If you haven't seen them yet, you can view them here: Product Launch Success Tips Part 2

The first set of tips are here: Product Launch Success Tips Part 1

I gained several insights before, during and after my product launch, and as promised I'm going to share more with you today.

Be sure to take notes.

Here are the next few tips to have a successful product launch:

Send Teaser Emails To Your Early Bird List To Get Them Excited

The people on your early bird list have shown interest in your offer, now you prime them for the launch date. As the days get closer to your launch you can send out emails to reveal a sneak peek into your product.

Think about how the movie industry puts out trailers for new movies. The trailers get you curious and excited to see the movie. It keeps you in state of mind of wanting to see until it finally releases.

You can do the same thing with your product launch by sending out teaser emails.

Make Sure You Have a Tech Support/Web Developer Handy

You never know what technical issues may crop up during the launch. If you have big-time JVs promoting your launch and sending a tidal wave of traffic, you'll want to have a tech person on call just in case any issues occur.

It's always better to be on the safe side because you don't want technical issues screwing up your ability to make sales. The previous launch I did was smooth sailing but I still had a tech guy handy.

Keep Mailing Your Early Bird List and Other Email Lists You're Promoting Your Offer To

I noticed as I kept mailing my early bird list I would get more sales. It was very simple and rewarding. When you do the groundwork ahead of time with teaser emails people are more open to checking out your product.

If your product is suited for your other email lists then have email promotions lined up for them too. When you can drive early sales with your own lists it can alert big affiliates that you have an offer worth promoting.

Final Thoughts

That's the nitty gritty of what I learned from this previous launch. I hope the tips I revealed over the last 3 posts help you get closer to your online business goals. As you keep doing more product launches you will learn and earn more money along the way.

What are some of the lessons you've learned from doing product launches?

Product Launch Success Tips Part 2

Product Launch

In my last post I shared the first set of success tips for product launches. If you haven't seen them yet, you can see them here: Product Launch Success Tips Part 1

I gained several insights before, during and after my product launch, and as promised I'm going to share more with you today.

Be sure to take notes.

Here are the next few tips to have a successful product launch:

Hold a JV Contest With Prizes to Influence More JVs to Promote Your Offer

JVs get really motivated to promote your launch when they have extra incentives - like cash prizes, vacation giveaways, electronic gadgets and other cool stuff.

The biggest product launches tend to have the biggest prizes available. And it attracts the super affiliates like bees to honey. But that doesn't mean you can't have a JV contest and offer prizes if you have a small launch.

Do what works best for you and your budget. Require that JVs get a minimum number of sales to be eligible for the prizes. That way you know you can definitely compensate prize winners when the JV contest is over.

Don't Approve Just Any Affiliate. Make Sure You Evaluate Them First

Affiliate networks like JVzoo, ClickBank and WarriorPlus, make it really easy for product creators and affiliates to connect.

Most affiliate networks give you the ability to approve who can promote your products. This is important because you don't want just anybody out there promoting your launch.

There are plenty of spammer affiliates out there who have no problem using any means possible to make a chunk of change with your offer. Even though you're making money, this can come back to bite you if they use methods that are illegal, dishonest, or harmful.

You have a reputation to protect so before you approve an affiliate to promote your launch, make sure you know who they are. Ask them how they found out about you. Ask them to provide you details on how they intend to promote the launch. Ask for their Facebook/Blog so you can see what they're all about.

Be Careful of Who You Give Review Copies of Your Product To

Review copies of your product are very helpful for JVs and affiliates to determine if its a good fit for their customers. Especially if you're new to the niche or they don't know you.

But beware...

There are some people out there who ask for review copies just to get your product for free. It's unfortunate but it happen sometimes.

The best thing to do is make sure you're dealing with legit marketers who are serious about promoting your offer. Once you talk to enough people you start realizing who's serious and who's not.

To Be Continued...

That's all for today. In my next post I'm going share more insights I learned during my product launch. Stay tuned, it will definitely help you out with yours.

In the meantime, what are some of the things you've learned from doing product launches?

Product Launch Success Tips Part 1

Product Launch

After a few successful affiliate promotions to start the year, I decided to take a stab at doing my own product launch.

Over the course of a month and half, I created a product, built a sales funnel and pulled off a pre-launch campaign.

I gained several insights before, during and after my product launch, and I'm going to share them with you here.

Be sure to take some notes.

Here are a few tips to have a successful product launch:

Build An Early Bird List

This will be your most important asset throughout the entire launch.

When you have the ability to quickly and easily send messages to a list of people who are already interested in your product... it gives you leverage.

Plus you discover an honest level of interest in your product.

Even if you plan to get JVs on board to promote your launch, having your own early bird list puts you in control. You don't have to depend on JVs to drive traffic. If you get JVs on board then its like a bonus!

Take Time to Craft and Design Really
Appealing Sales Pages

This is another important aspect of your launch. Your sales pages play a huge role on the amount of money you make with your launch.

If your sales pages aren't crafted well and they don't work,  your product launch will end up with low conversion rate and low Earnings Per Click (EPCs).

That will definitely scare away super affiliates who are keeping an eye on which products to promote next. Not to mention you won't make much money with your launch.

So when you're creating your sales pages be sure they're high converting and look really appealing. If that means hiring a kick ass, professional copywriter and sales page web designer then so be it.

Conversions is the bread and butter of making money online. Don't skimp on this step.

Create a Solid JV Page and
Network With JVs Ahead of Time

If you can get Joint Venture partners (JVs) and big affiliates in agreement to promote your product, it can make your launch a huge success.

One of the best ways to get them on board is to create a solid JV page that provides details about your launch. Give them every little detail that they need to know to make a decision on promoting your product.

Think about what you would want to know if you're the affiliate looking to promote a product launch.

Another thing to keep in mind - if you plan on making money in the product launch space you should have a focus on networking with JVs on a regular basis.

Build true relationships with other marketers in your niche by sharing ideas and having personal conversations. One of the best rewards of doing online business is the friendships you make.

When it comes time for your product launch you can let them know ahead of time so they clear space on their calendar to promote your launch.

To Be Continued...

That's all for today. In my next post I'm going share more insights I learned during my product launch. Stay tuned, it will definitely help you out with your launch.

In the mean time, what are some of the things you've learned from doing product launches?

How To Start An Affiliate Marketing Business

affiliate marketing

I always tell people...

One of the easiest ways to start an online business is with affiliate marketing.

Why?

Because you don't have to come up with your own product or service.

You don't have to write any sales copy or worry about conversion rate optimization.

You don't even have to deal with customer support after someone purchases an offer.

Affiliate marketing is all about promoting other people's products and services.

You find a product or service you like, promote it to others and earn a piece of the profit for each sale that you make.

All you have to do is send website visitors through your affiliate link. And when someone makes a purchase you receive an affiliate commission.

It's a great way to make passive income.

So how can you get started with this easy online business model?

Here are 3 steps to start an affiliate marketing business:

Step 1 - Pick a Niche

Picking a niche is all about choosing the topic/market/product category/area of interest that you will promote affiliate offers.

Most people say you should pick a niche that you're an expert in and have passion for but...

It's important to choose a niche that is profitable so you can make decent money in your business. Here are a few niches that are known to be profitable:

  • Weight loss
  • Fitness
  • Self Improvement
  • Dating and Relationships
  • Video Games
  • Skin Care Treatment
  • Women's Fashion

And you can uncover many more profitable niches (large and small) when you do the research. So if you're going to pick a niche that you're an expert in and have passion for, be sure it's profitable.

Step 2 - Find Good Affiliate Offers

Once you pick a niche, the next step is to find good affiliate offers in your niche to promote.

When I say good, I'm talking about products or services that will be profitable for you and provide value to the people you're promoting it to.

You can find affiliate offers by doing a quick Google search of:

[Your Niche] + affiliate programs

That should bring up a list of websites with affiliate programs/networks in your niche.

One of the most popular affiliate networks for digital products is Clickbank.

And the most popular affiliate program for physical products is Amazon.

Spend some time doing the research to find a good affiliate offer to promote. It makes all the difference whether or not your business will be profitable.

Step 3 - Create a Website

The next step is to create a website so you can actually promote your affiliate offers. You will need to register a domain name related to your niche. And you will need to purchase web hosting if you haven't already.

All in all it should only cost about $20 to get everything you need (Very cheap compared to starting other kinds of businesses).

That's all you need to establish an online presence.

There are plenty of ways to design a website but I recommend using WordPress to get started. It's really easy to create WordPress affiliate sites and earn a full-time income online.

Finally, once your site is ready, it's time to create content for it.

The content you create must be relevant to your niche but also interesting and engaging enough to keep your audience coming back. You should also ensure the site content is search engine-friendly so search engines send web visitor to your website.

Conclusion

If you follow the 3 steps above you can start your own affiliate marketing business. At first there is some work involved but once it gets going you will find it exciting and rewarding.
